I’m Maria Galloway from Los Angeles, Ca. My artistic journey is a reflection my love for nature and travel adventures.

My portfolio is a collection of creations, each born from a spark of inspiration. Whether it be the strokes of tiny watercolor sketches that document my journeys, the bold acrylic renditions of landscapes that capture nature, or the delicate oil paintings depicting bunnies and birds, my work reflects the harmony I find in the world around me.

My artistic journey has been nurtured by studies, including the pursuit of Studio Art at San Diego State University, Ceramics at California State University, Northridge, Figurative Art at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art. My curiosity and commitment led me even further, delving into the realm of Social Emotional Art Therapy at UCLArts & Healing. And my current journey of Natural Science Illustration at RISD. I love growing and learning as an artist.

In 2011, I co-founded the Los Angeles Art School, Viridian Art Academy, a nurturing space for aspiring artists to learn, grow, and flourish. This endeavor reflects my commitment to fostering artistic growth and nurturing the creative spirit within our community. In 2015, I embarked on yet another venture, founding a blog for art educators, "Art Teacher in LA," a platform dedicated to sharing insights, ideas, and inspiration for fellow art teachers.

Through my collection of paintings, I hope to evoke the same sense of wonder and connection to the natural world that fuels my own creative journey. May you find art that makes you happy.
